Thunderbird
- Thunderbird (Tbird) is Mozilla's open source email client.
- Why would one want to use Tbird rather than Eudora?
- Eudora is no longer supported so there will be no bug fixes/security updates.
- Eudora has bad IMAP support, while Tbird has very good IMAP support
- What is IMAP?
- IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) stores your mail on a server which allows ..
- Access through a web browser
- Access using an email client like Tbird, Outlook
- Multiple concurrent access
- The major advantage of IMAP in my mind is that your mail is not stored on your local machine which allows for much greater flexibility for the user.
- IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) stores your mail on a server which allows ..
- Tbird allows one to read and send mail from multiple accounts with the same client.
- Hooks into the ISU lpad server for directory lookups
- Tbird runs the same on a Mac, Windows, or Linux machine.
